San Pedro del Pinatar’s popular book bus is back for the summer, bringing stories, comics and films to the seafront in Lo Pagán. The Bibliobús service, run by the Murcia Regional Library in collaboration with the local council, has once again set up shop on the La Puntica promenade, right next to the bus stop.

 

Since its launch in 1998, the mobile library has been a fixture of the summer scene, making it easier for locals and visitors to borrow books without leaving the beach.

 

The service will run every Thursday in July and August from 10am until 1pm.

 

The collection includes something for everyone. There is children’s fiction, science fiction, general non-fiction, reference books and a good range of comics and films on DVD and Blu-ray.

 

Anyone with a Regional Public Library Network card can borrow items, and if you do not have one, you can request a temporary card by showing a valid ID.

 

The Councillor for Culture, Carmen María López, and municipal librarian Mari Carmen Fernández stopped by the book bus this week to celebrate the return of ‘A Summer of Books’.

 

The aim is to make reading part of the summer experience for residents and tourists alike, with easy access to a wide selection of titles just steps from the sand.
