August 9 to 12 The 43rd annual National Folklore Festival in Jumilla
Three days of traditional music and dancing to coincide with the annual grape harvest fiestas in Jumilla
The 43rd National Folklore Festival of Jumilla is being held in the north of the Region of Murcia between August 12 and 14.
Events will be centred on the Jardín de la Glorieta (click for map) and the Plaza de la Constitución (formerly the Plaza de Abajo, home to the Jerónimo Molina Ethnographic Museum) and as usual the traditional dancing and singing will coincide with the annual grape-picking fiestas, the highlight of which for many people is the “Cabalgata del Vino” on Saturday August 17, when rivers of red wine will once again flood the streets of the town as revellers indulge in a wine “battle” to celebrate the beginning of another harvest!
