August 12 Mar Menor kayak trip in Santiago de la Ribera to see the eclipse

A unique experience as the sun “sets” twice over the lagoon!

Numerous different activities are being held all over the Region of Murcia to provide memorable experiences during the eclipse of the sun on 12^th August, and this one in Santiago de la Ribera is certainly among the most original to have come to our notice so far!

At 19.00 a group is gathering at the Club y Escuela de Piragüismo Mar Menor (click for map) to set out half an hour later onto calm water of the Mar Menor, just in time for the beginning of the eclipse at 19.41 – and everyone is invited to join them, although the number of kayas for hire (at 6 euros each) is limited). Of course, all those joining the trip MUST bring their fully certified eclipse glasses or goggles, and it goes without saying that some previous experience of kayaking is recommended!
