April 25 National folk music and dance festival in Alhama de Murcia

An evening of traditional entertainment at the church of San Lázaro Obispo in Alhama

The 42nd annual National “Villa de Alhama” Folk Festival is being held in Alhama de Murcia on Saturday 25^th April at the church of San Lázaro Obispo, beginning at 12.30, one of the main events in the build-up to the Los Mayos fiestas which take place in early May.

Taking part this year, as well as the host group (the Grupo Folklórico Villa de Alhama), are invitees from far and wide within Spain, namely the Grupo Coros y Danzas Doña Urraca from Zamora, the Asociación Folklórica Renacer from Badajoz and the rather more local Grupo Folclórico Ciudad de Cartagena from La Palma. As well as music, the evening features dance and traditional costumes from other parts of Spain.

Admission for the audience is free of charge.
