April 18 Spring market in the Alhama village of El Berro

A great little rural market in the foothills of Sierra Espuña

Although it is a tiny village, nestling in the south-eastern foothills of Sierra Espuña, El Berro is a hugely popular destination for weekend outings for the population of the city of Murcia and much of south-western Murcia, offering superb views, clear mountain air and a complete change of atmosphere from what, for most of us, is everyday life.

On top of that, on Saturday 18^th April there is an added attraction with the holding of the annual spring market, during which typical rural produce is on sale in a relaxed, friendly and rustic atmosphere, making for a great day out in the mountains.

The market opens from 10.00 to 20.00, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings and grab a bite to eat, either in one of the local restaurants or with a picnic in the hills!
