April 12 The Day of the Moors in Caravaca de la Cruz

Preparations are under way in Caravaca for the fiestas and the Running of the Wine Horses

Anticipation is already running high in Caravaca de la Cruz as the dates of the annual fiestas in the first week of May draw nearer and nearer, and in preparation for the main events the Moorish groups (who parade in rivalry with the Christians during the festivities) are holding their celebratory day on Saturday April 12 in the city centre.

The schedule of events and activities is as follows:

8.00: The wake-up call is sounded by arquebus fire in the streets!

11.30: The groups gather in Plaza Paco Pim and march in parade to the Plaza del Arco.

12.00: The Moorish encampment opens in the Plaza del Arco.

16.00: Coffee provided by Cafés Salzillo.

17.00: DJ music with Francis Alarte.

19.30: Live music from La Senda.

A children's play and care area is provided.
