Almería is set to gain another direct connection with the United Kingdom following the announcement of a new Jet2 route linking the province with East Midlands Airport. The news, revealed during the 2025 World Travel Market in London, highlights continued growth in Almería’s international connectivity.

 

The new route will operate from March to October 2026, consolidating Almería’s position in the British market, which is expected to grow by 31% in 2025, according to Ángel Escobar, vice-president of the Provincial Council.

 

It will bring the total number of Almería’s air connections to the British Isles to nine, covering seven different UK cities.

 

Jet2 currently connects Almería with London (Gatwick, Southend and Stansted), Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Liverpool, with the latter city recently added to the schedule with two weekly flights.

 

The British market remains crucial for the province, with Almería Airport recording a 22% year-on-year increase in UK passenger traffic – the highest growth among Andalusian airports.

 

In addition to the new British routes, Vueling will also boost domestic connectivity by operating three weekly flights to Barcelona, offering travellers a daily service.
