Alhama de Murcia is looking for new owners for two café kiosks
The concession facilities are located in prime spots in El Palmeral and Condado de Alhama

Alhama de Murcia is on the hunt for hospitality entrepreneurs to take over two municipal kiosks, with the council now accepting bids for both spaces. Anyone interested has until July 22 to register their proposal through the Public Sector Procurement Platform.
Antonio García, the council's Commerce and Hospitality chief, explained that the aim is to bring these spaces back to life and widen what's on offer for residents and visitors alike. He added that opening the Condado de Alhama kiosk would finally answer a request locals have been making for years.
The El Palmeral kiosk is reopening after its previous operator stepped down, while the Condado de Alhama site will be used for the first time since it was built. The tender, published on June 22, is split into two separate lots, so bidders can go for one site or both.
Mr García pointed out that the Condado de Alhama kiosk sits in a prime spot between the La Isla and Condado urbanisations, surrounded by sports courts, a children's playground and a bio-healthy fitness area. The El Palmeral kiosk, meanwhile, sits in one of the town's most popular parks.
According to Mr García, it's a great option for anyone looking to launch their first business or go self-employed in hospitality.
Bids must be submitted electronically, with all the paperwork already available on the procurement platform. Lot I covers the Condado de Alhama kiosk, which has 27.75m² of usable space and a minimum annual fee of €326.40.
Lot II is the El Palmeral kiosk, slightly smaller at 23.31m², although it comes fitted with basic catering kit including an extractor hood, tapas display case and freezer, with a minimum annual fee of €614. Both fees can be bid up.
Each concession will run for two years initially, with the option to extend annually by mutual agreement up to a maximum of four years.
