Airport Buses celebrates a strong start following its launch
Passenger reviews for the Murcia Airport transfer service are glowing, and now operators say a broader uptake is vital to sustain the new service

Three short weeks after its launch, Airport Buses is already earning high praise from passengers travelling to and from Murcia International Airport. With an impressive Google rating of 4.9 stars and overwhelmingly positive feedback across social media platforms, the new scheduled airport transfer service is being recognised for its clear communication, modern vehicles and friendly, professional drivers.
Designed to provide a stress-free alternative to conventional public transport, Airport Buses currently runs between six and nine daily services across three scheduled routes, covering 60 stops all the way from Torrevieja (Alicante) to San Juan de los Terreros (Almería), as well as many stops around the Region of Murcia.
While passenger numbers are growing steadily, Mike Chaplin, the mastermind behind the service, acknowledges that greater public uptake is essential in the weeks ahead to secure its long-term sustainability.
“We’re delighted with how well the service has been received so far,” he said. “The feedback has been phenomenal – people are telling us they really value the ease of booking, the reliability, and the high standard of the vehicles and staff. We’re doing everything we can to maintain those standards while also trying to build momentum.”
In its early stages, the service is still being heavily subsidised, with the operator bearing much of the cost to keep multiple routes running every day. A strong marketing campaign is under way across radio, print media, online platforms and social channels, with the hope of converting more of the region’s residents and visitors into regular users.
With connections tailored specifically to flights from the UK and Ireland and a commitment to customer care, Airport Buses is positioning itself as the go-to transfer option for those travelling to or from Murcia. Now, for the service to continue and expand, wider community support will be essential.
Travellers are encouraged to consider Airport Buses not only for convenience and comfort, but to help ensure this much-needed local initiative becomes a permanent fixture of the Region’s transport offering!
