Aguilas fights against an increase in summer fly tipping

The arrival of the summer season has led to an increase in the accumulation of rubbish, including furniture and mattresses, next to the rubbish containers in
Águilas, according to a statement from the Town Hall.
It is “a sadly common and undesirable situation,” they say, especially as it is one which could be solved with a simple call to 0034 968 49 33 19, the number to call if you have large or unwieldy goods to dispose of and which need to be picked up and taken to the dump.
This is a totally free service provided by the Town Council of Águilas, through the cleaning concessionary company, which if used correctly would put an end to the problem of flytipping, a problem which, the Council says, “in most cases makes the road where the rubbish accumulates an impassable area, preventing pedestrians from passing through.”
Likewise, the Department of Cleaning has reminded that there is also an incident telephone number managed by two operators through which anybody can inform the service of any anomaly that could be detected.
To do so, simply send a WhatsApp message – including a photograph of the incident detected and its location – to 0034 659 94 98 36.
“Citizen collaboration is vital to keep our municipality clean,” concludes the Town Hall.
